Mid-Summer Swoon {Day 2} Guest Blogger: The Glossarie

Day two of Mid-Summer Swoon! What fun!

Up today is the lovely Lara from The Glossarie. I love love love going over to The Glossarie and reading what Lara blogs about: all things pretty!  She focuses on beauty and accessories with some fashion and fun thrown in.  When I need to indulge my inner girlie-girl, her blog is the first place I turn, and who wouldn't with eye candy like this and this?! And when I need a little beauty advice, I send her a tweet on Twitter.  Lara was our very first non-friend, non-family member commenter on the blog, so she will always have a special place in these girls' hearts!

We hope you enjoy Lara's swoon-worthy picks, and also hope that you can swing on by The Glossarie and check out her blog!

Summer Blues (and Greens!)

When the Swoon girls asked me to round up some of my mid-summer swoons, I noticed a pattern pretty
quickly. Something about blues and greens has captured my attention through the warmer months –
right down to the book on my bedside table! Without further adieu, here’s what’s making my heart sing
this summer:

1. These turquoise Acoma Earrings from Anthro are light as air but make a big statement against
my brunette locks. I’ve been wearing them with white tees and LBDs alike - they jazz up all my
summer looks.

2. Essie’s Turquoise & Caicos is my go-to summer polish. The creamy seafoam green is daring
enough to satisfy my beauty addiction but also calm and serene so it’s totally office appropriate.
While it looks great on fingers and toes, I’m loving it best on short, natural nails.

3. Commencement follows four girls as they attend Smith College in Massachusetts and then
navigate their post-college years. The characters are completely relatable and the real grit
comes through in how their friendships grow and change. It’s one of those books that has
enough juice to keep you entertained but also enough depth and heart to make it a smart read.

4. How cute is this little Zara bag from Hobo? It’s an envelope clutch that converts three from a
cross-body satchel to a wristlet. It goes with absolutely everything and I can’t get enough of the
Kate Middleton-inspired cobalt blue.

5. The patterns in this J.Crew Printed iPhone Cover actually pushed me over the edge to finally
upgrade to a 4G. It evokes the 70’s sensation that’s been popping up in style trends and for
$22.50 I feel like my phone is dressed to the nines (it’s also very easy to spot in my purse!).

So, there you have it, just a few colorful things brightening my days. Happy summer, Swoon readers!

  1. I was eyeing that nail polish last time I got a pedicure, but I wasn't sure I was young enough to wear that color :) Maybe I will give it a try next time!
