Spring has arrived!

Before I get into my post I wanted to give you an update on our new posting schedule.  Shanna and I have decided to post three times a week rather than every day.  The decision to do this is mainly to give us more time to work on projects around the house and bring you really great detailed posts and tutorials on everything we do.  Be sure to pop in on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to visit us!
Now that it's SPRING (yes can you believe it) I thought it would be the perfect time to show you some of the outfits I have been pining over on Pinterest.  Of course they came from Pinterest because I cannot keep myself off of that site and they have outfits and accessories already assembled for you, gotta love that!

Loving this flowy, airy top and wedges!  Welcome back sandals!

After I found the outfit above I checked out the blog that was tied to it saying 17 outfits for spring called It's Written on the Wall and found outfits that are totally my style so thank you to this blogger for making this so easy for me!  I actually found that if you go to Pinterest and type in Stacy Gustin there are the most drool worthy outfits for this season for you to pin and find through Polyvore.  So, SO excited about this!

Check these out:
The cuffed jeans and blazer make this outfit look casual and classy at the same time:

White jeans?  Yes please:

And this adorable polka dot top and more wedges!

This dress and jean jacket are adorable together

I am starting to think I need more blazers in my life.  This look is so pulled together and the pops of yellow make the outfit really stand out:

I could go on and on!  Go check out this pinner, I promise you will not be disappointed.

Are you ready to break out the spring wardrobe?  What are some staples you plan to add to your closet this season?

WWJW: Wear tunics and leggings like a pro

It can be so hard to figure out how to wear leggings with tunics without looking frumpy or too casual.  Shanna suggested posting about different ways to wear them for every day or work outfits (if you have a slightly more business casual dress code).  Great idea!  I usually wear leggings to work out or lounge around in but there are so many other things you can do with them.  Take a look!

Adorable.  I wish my feet looked that cute in flats because I would rock this outfit on weekends.  Loving the plaid top with the leggings, it is such a relaxed, fun look yet still very put together.

This look really works because instead of the tunic just being long and straight with no shape, the drawstring pulls in right at the waist giving a slimming effect:

The striped shirt is a little on the short side but the whole thing is pulled together once it's paired with the trench.  The trench gives it a little more length making the short shirt more acceptable to wear out in public (in my opinion at least).

This top is incredibly frilly so I know it may not be for everyone but what I like about this one is that it has a drawstring like the second picture, however, this one is a bit lower creating the illusion of a skirt/dress if pulled a little tighter.  I know this "dress" would be just an eensy weensy bit short but once you pair these items with leggings you will see your comfort level with slightly shorter pieces of clothing increase (it's safe to bend over :) ).

Here is something similar but instead of boots we have heels.  For me, it's usually easier to wear a longer tunic when you have heels on since more of your leg is showing to keep you looking long and lean.  Try it out, you may feel like you can wear a shorter top when you have your knee high boots on.

I adore the third style, I need to go stalk these items out next time I go shopping, MUST GET A WHITE BLAZER!  The fourth style is my next favorite, I love the pop of color and the deep v-neck keeps this straighter shape from looking too boxy.

OOOH man this look makes me want spring in the worst way!  White legging/jeggings with a tunic and tan wedges?  Yes please and these pops of coral are to die for!

What do you think?  Have any favorites from this post?  Do you wear leggings and tunics and how do you pair the two?

See you swoon,

You can tie it in a knot, you can tie it in a bow

There are so many ways you can wear scarves!  I wear a scarf almost every day whether it's just with my coat or with an outfit to spice things up a bit.  I love how you can wear them with a plain long sleeve shirt or even a tank top, throw on some jeans, boots, or even flip flops and wrap a scarf around your neck to take your outfit to the next level.

I found this great visual on Pinterest (of course) with fifteen different ways you can tie your scarf and you can go to The Fashion Spot blog here for tips on how to tie each one in the picture, so glad I found this!

Look how creative this scarf is with a leather tie.  You can slip the scarf end through, adorable and so unique (you can see some other leather options at the bottom)!

This picture looks so cozy.  Looks like one of those scarves you can just slip over your head, no tying needed:

If I am being totally honest, there is one celebrity that I find myself slightly obsessed with, her scarf wearing that is!

Hello Jennifer, welcome to Swoon , I am going to buy all the scarves you wear and tie them just he way you do.  So sheek, so classy.  Thank you for your scarf wearing inspiration :)  Oh and thank you for your amazing hair, I want that too, just the scarves and hair, not weird at all right?

I love how she wraps this one:

And my personal fav, flip flops (I am dying to wear these right now), striped scarf, white tank and jeans.  I mushy heart this one.

Are you into scarves?  What is your favorite way to wear them?

Happy hump day!

See you swoon,

What Would Jamie Wear: Christmas Brunch

Every year my husband's family has Christmas brunch at the country club where he used to work and his parents have been members for years.  It is such a fun time to visit and the food is so, SO good!  I usually cannot get past the eggs benedict and mimosas but each year I am so very happy when I leave...and full!

Brunch is a dressy occassion so every year I find myself trying to figure out what to wear about a month prior to the event.  It's not formal dress dressy but definitely something you want to feel pretty for and and an outfit you are hapy taking pictures in.

On our last visit to the outlet, Shanna and I actually did more shopping than the usual stop at Pottery Barn (don't get me wrong, we did that too but added a few places).  We actually finished almost all of our Christmas shopping.  Ladies, you know how this goes, one for you...and maybe something for me :)  It is super hard to shop all day for others and not come across something you love too, so in the spirit of giving why not give a little something to yourself along the way?  Anyway, enough of me justifying my purchases and back to showing you the outfit I picked out for brunch this year.  I know it's a lot of black but I softened it a bit with a blush toned cardigan and the sparkly tank is so festive!  I already owned the skinny cords and I have a pair of black boots so my outfit this year didn't break the bank.

What Would Jamie Wear: Boot Fetish

Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a fan of cold weather and the fact that I have probably said it on here a few million times may have been a hint.  However, if it has to get cold, the one thing I welcome is wearing boots again.  They are similar to animals, you have to love all of them because they are so cute and fuzzy, and warm.  Boots are not always fuzzy but they can be soft with buttery leather and make it super simple to put outfits together every morning when you are freezing your bum off!

Here are a few that are must haves this year.  You can dress them up or down which is what I love most about them.  Keeping your shoe wardrobe versatile is just as important as having those signature clothing pieces in your closet to mix and match.  Yes, some boots are more casual like the pair I have been ga-ga for but if you find the right right dress or cute pair of skinny cords and fun sweater you can take the boots from riding on your horse (if you have one and haven't stepped in any dung) to a dinner date.

Frye Company, if you are reading this just know I love you very much and thank you for making these beautiful boots :)

Frye Paige Tall Riding Boot:

OK so these are not boots but bootie wedges:)  I swear, if I get these they will go with everything...

For those of you who like a little lift but don't want to sacrifice comfort, a wedge is a perfect solution:

I have never had the need for rain boots before but as time goes on I am convinced I need a pair and I figure, if I am going to get a pair may as well go big right?  That kind of sounds ridiculous since I will rarely wear them but in my mind I could wear them gardening or in the RAIN or walkign through fields (I don't ever do this by the way!).  I am not going to run out and get these just yet but when I do this is the pair I want, also I know what you are thinking and you are right,  these you probably cannot dress up but I had to show you anyway:

Anyone out there shopping for boots already?  Do you have a pair that has lasted a lifetime? What brand is your favorite?

See you swoon,

Everyone needs a dress to turn 30 in don't you think?

It's true.  And this is exactly what I bought.  The necklace I talked about on Monday actually looks fantastic with the creamy, ivory lace so when I go out I am wearing these together....now for some shoes which I have yet to find.  I was a little worried when this dress arrived, there was some concern about the length being too short and not quite age appropriate (I know I am not 80 but I am not 19 either so length is an issue for me) but to my surprise it was perfect and hugged me in all the right places.  I am sure all the ladies reading this can attest to how amazing a dress can make you feel when it fits exactly how you had hoped (it is not every day that this happens).  This dress is it for me.

Urban Outfitters Pins & Needles Lace Dress:

When I have an occasion to wear this to I will take some pictures to show you what everything looks like together, oh and the shoes I end up wearing as well!  What I want to know is if any of you splurged or treated yourself to something special when you hit 30, and for those of you who have not yet entered this decade, any fun purchases on the horizon?  I highly recommend it :)

See you swoon,

Birthday Danglies!!

A pair of gold DANGLY Anthropologie earrings.  I am usually a pretty plain girl, I never really venture into drop earrings, trendy necklaces, or fancy rings (except for my diamonds-moooahahahaha!).  My every day accessories include my wedding rings, a pair of stud earrings and maybe a silver necklace that I barely ever switch up.  So I am breaking out of this mold, with very small baby steps and jumping in so check out what I bought!

Anthropologie Maritime Danglers, I love em'.

I don't usually wear gold but as you can see with my new necklace purchase that I showed you on Monday, I have decided to try a few new things. So far I am very pleased with my new look that is helping me to start this new, very FABULOUS decade!

What kind of accessories to you gravitate towards,?  Trendy?  Classic?  Nothing at all?

See you swoon,
PS ... Shanna's upholstered coffee table was just featured on one of our favorite sites: Ikea Hackers!  Check it out here - yay!

Another day in the life of my Anthropologie wish list

I know we are in the middle of summer and I should really be thinking about shopping for my fall wardrobe but I have always been more of a summer girl so shopping for summer clothing has always been so much more fun for me, too bad this season is so short here in PA (now if summer were as long as winter I would be set!).

You know I cannot get enough of my favorite store Anthropologie and I am always updating my wish list with items I would just die to have.  I will tell you one of the most upsetting things is when pieces I have added are out of stock and never come back but I guess that is what happens when you wait to long hoping for a sale and them BAM, wouldn't you know it, everyone else in the universe was doing the same thing I just happened to be a lot slower to pull the trigger.  You snooze you lose.

I have once again beefed up my list and wanted to share it with you now, maybe you can draw some inspiration from it to round out your summer wardrobe for 2011 or get some sweet deals on items you can wear next year (unless every year over the long winter months your closet eats all your clothes like mine does, then you may just want to buy things for instant gratification rather than waiting for next year).

Here we go, hold on to your hats people!

Dresses first, this would be the perfect dress to turn 30 it don’t you think?
