It's time to chime in

You all know that my front sitting room is a work in progress, a very slow, work in progress as most things are in a home.  I have been on the hunt for side tables that are interesting yet functional and will not break the bank.  Please someone tell me why a very tiny table costs so much money?  I really need to be come a carpenter and just start building everything I need.

What I need your help with is a little side table that was handed down to me.  This table seems so rustic and unique that I was thrilled to have it in my space, now keep in mind that I am still looking for the round glass piece to go on top but you will get the idea when you see the pictures below.  So here is the dilemma, I really enjoy the table but my husband, well, not so much.  So I need some opinions here, let it out good or bad, you won't hurt my feelings but I want to know what you think.

So here we have it:

Thoughts?  Does it stay or does it go?

See you swoon,

  1. Hmmm-I can see both sides. It is unique and pretty neat, but I'm not sure I like it in that space. I might be cute tucked in a corner with a plant on top or something. I'd keep searching for your perfect end table!

  2. are you against painting it? because I think it would amazing painted...right now it looks like rusted metal and that is not so great in a living room.

  3. I like this in person better than in the pictures. That said, I love Maya's suggestion of painting it. Kelly would probably like it better painted, and the super cool lines of the piece would stay in tact. I'd go for an unexpected punch of color - coral, turquoise, yellow, teal ... something fun.

  4. I think it is unique and awesome, and once he sees it with the glass top he will be able to put it in context.

  5. I think it would look great painted especially in something unexpected or maybe even silver leaf?

  6. Thank you all! I love your ideas and I may try it with the glass top first to see if it changes the feel and if Kelly actually likes it more but painting is a great idea too! Surprising with how much I love to paint that I didn't think of that!

I hear you on the rusted metal in the living room, Kelly asked if he should get a tetanus shot-haha!

I will keep you updated on this sidetable's future turns out :)
