Recently I found this postcard from one of my favorite sellers on Etsy, Sugarfresh. I ordered a print or two from her a long time ago, and she enclosed this with my order. I loved it so much at the time that I saved it with all the art that I had been meaning to frame and hang.

I found the card just last week, it made me stop in my tracks. When I received it back in the Winter, I would have no clue how meaningful it would be. But it hit me: home, indeed, is where your heart is. It sounds a little trite and maybe hard to believe coming from someone who blogs about home "stuff" like paint colors, furniture, DIY, projects, etc. But the last few months have taught me so many things, and top among them is that a home is far different from a house. Your home can be anywhere, as long as you are with the ones you love.
My personal circumstances have changed quite a bit: my husband and I have separated, and I moved into a townhome that I am renting. We are all doing OK. I said goodbye to the house that I loved, but am working on making my new space into my home under the restrictions of a landlord and lease. Not an easy task after owning a home since 2004, but you know I love a challenge and a project. I will eventually bring back the "Shanna's Home" tab, which I am currently editing with my new home tour.
I have missed blogging tremendously, but as you can see, so much was happening in my life, and I needed to take a break. I am back, and Jamie will be back too.
Thank you to our sweet bloggie friends who took the time to comment and check in while we were on hiatus. Your care and concern mean more to us than we can say.
So here we are - ready for new adventures and projects and lots of laughs, headaches and even heartache that go with them. Won't you join us along the way?
See you swoon,
