Strapping some on

Belts that is!  There are so many ways to wear belts with dresses, skirts, and pants so I am going to show you some of my favorite looks that you can wear for every day styles at work or for a night out.

I had to get this wedding in the post first off because I love navy dresses but secondly, look at all the different styles of belts!  They are so stylish and can be worn with many other dresses and skirts.  Loving how the belts make the decor and pictures feel so down to earth and whimsical.

OK so love this dress and belt combo but what is so cool is that this picture is the product called Belt Loopy, why am I not the genius that came up with this!?  I always have this issue!!  Perfect to hold your belt end down when the tail is too long...or you can see another solution in the third picture below.

This is adorable right?  The color combo is stunning but I love how she has her belt tied.  This would work with a dress or a skirt like she has done here.

This is usually my go to style when I wear my long belt with dresses:

This:

All of these looks you can pull off with jeans or pants too!  Here are some other fun looks I have found.

I would show you some pictures of pants and belts but I think we all know how that works...I hope :)

Do you wear belts? What is your favorite way to accessorize with them?

Happy Thursday all, almost the weekend!

See you swoon,

A little Valentines Day Ooh La La

Happy Valentines Day!!

At first I wasn't so sure about this post but after Shanna and I went shopping this past weekend I knew I had to spread the word to the masses!  I am in love!!!  I am head over heels completely in love with my new bra from Aerie!

So I went forward with this blog post for two reasons, one because its Valentines day :)  This is a romatic, fun, sexy holiday so why not.  Second, what woman has been fortunate enough to never have to wear a bra?  If any of you are reading, kudos to you but for the most part, we all need one.

The Maddie push up bra has the perfect amount of lift while still looking natural and for me, complete comfort to boot!  I know you will have to try this one on for yourself but in my opinion, we have a winner!
Not just a plain bra either, look at the pretty lace on the sides.  You can actually buy this without the lace but I was stepping outside my comfort zone with this one.
Aerie has a fantastic sale right now where the panties (yup, a word I never thought I would be saying on our blog) are 5 for $26.00 and all bras are 40% off!

Here are some other things I have been checking out.  If I had an endless wad of cash I would buy everything all at once but until that happens I will be left here to swoon as always.

I know for the most part no one ever gets to see the fancy undergarments that we purchase for ourselves but it isn't it fun and just as important to feel as pretty underneath your clothing as you do on the outside?  Let me answer this for you, yes.

Don't worry, I am not going to ask about your undergarments today but I encourage you to go out there and buy something that makes you feel amazing, even if it is just for your eyes only.

Have a beautifully romantic day :)
See you swoon,

Oh the many possibilities

Shanna and I both got beautiful riding boots for Christmas.  I find a way to wear them at work with skinny cords during the week and skinny jeans tucked inside on Friday (gotta love jean day).  My work is business casual so it's a bit easier to get away with wearing skinny cords and my riding boots pretty often, I am fortunate with that.
Shanna asked me the other day to help find ideas for her to wear her boots to work more often, ideas that were not just tucking skinny pants inside.  Her office dress code seems to be a bit more business professional or at least not skinny cords with boots approved so of course I jumped to the challenge of finding a way for her to wear those beautiful bits of buttery leather as often as she possibly can.

I warn you, this post will make you want shop.  Shanna, this may be bad for you right now since you are on a slight rampage (love you :) ).  In all seriousness though, it can be hard to find unique, appropriate ways to wear your riding boots so I hope this post helps to give you inspiration with your current wardrobe or when you go out looking for some cute pieces to add to your closet.

I find myself in awe when I see someone pulling off an adorable outfit with boots and without running into frumpy territory (I currently do not wear my boots with anything but pants tucked inside but in my defense I think my big feet are a huge road block here, I probably need to become a little more adventurous!).

Let's get to it, get the eye candy glasses on, you know how I love eye candy Friday's!!

This is my #1.  Never thought I would be drawn to yellow tights but this outfit is the cutest thing EVER!  Adorable little cardigan, brown belt, navy dress and yellow tights?  Yum.

This one is sort of reversed with navy tights and a yellow skirt.  I do not wear many skirts...er I should say any skirts really but this outfit makes me want to try, and look a scarf too!!  I have to say, the tights with these ensembles really help to pull everything together and make you look and feel weather appropriate (unlike the open toe shoes I wore yesterday..in February..with snow on the ground..yup, I know, it was dumb).

UMMMM SWOOOOOOOON, SWOON, SWOON!  No words needed, just beautiful:

Next up, a simple sweater dress.  I would probably add a belt and a cute necklace but this would be appropriate for office or a night out:

Shanna just bought herself a beautiful red wrap dress.  I have yet to see it on but looky here!   A  wrap dress...with boots (I am not sure I love the maroon tights but it seems to work for her and after all, that is what fashion is about right, expressing yourself)!

I just can't get enough of these dress and boot combos.  Please let me win the lottery so I can shop for everything I want:

This one is fun a playful, comes off as very girly and flirty:

Of course I need to throw some casual looks in here too, I love all the outfits above but casual is more my style on any day of the week:

Motorcycle boots, scarves and a plaid shirt?  Hells bells, I love it all!

This would be a great casual Friday outfit and look, tan and white :)  Some of my favorite colors!

So get out there and do those riding boots justice!  I hope these helped to inspire you.  What do you wear with your boots?

Happy Friday everyone!!

See you swoon,

You can tie it in a knot, you can tie it in a bow

There are so many ways you can wear scarves!  I wear a scarf almost every day whether it's just with my coat or with an outfit to spice things up a bit.  I love how you can wear them with a plain long sleeve shirt or even a tank top, throw on some jeans, boots, or even flip flops and wrap a scarf around your neck to take your outfit to the next level.

I found this great visual on Pinterest (of course) with fifteen different ways you can tie your scarf and you can go to The Fashion Spot blog here for tips on how to tie each one in the picture, so glad I found this!

Look how creative this scarf is with a leather tie.  You can slip the scarf end through, adorable and so unique (you can see some other leather options at the bottom)!

This picture looks so cozy.  Looks like one of those scarves you can just slip over your head, no tying needed:

If I am being totally honest, there is one celebrity that I find myself slightly obsessed with, her scarf wearing that is!

Hello Jennifer, welcome to Swoon , I am going to buy all the scarves you wear and tie them just he way you do.  So sheek, so classy.  Thank you for your scarf wearing inspiration :)  Oh and thank you for your amazing hair, I want that too, just the scarves and hair, not weird at all right?

I love how she wraps this one:

And my personal fav, flip flops (I am dying to wear these right now), striped scarf, white tank and jeans.  I mushy heart this one.

Are you into scarves?  What is your favorite way to wear them?

Happy hump day!

See you swoon,

New Years eye candy to get you in the spirit

Happy New Year's Eve Eve everyone!  I hope you all have plans to be with friends or family to celebrate and watch 2012 roll in.  The new year always brings such excitement and promise of fun new things and a fresh start, I can say that I am looking forward to this new year more than words can say.

Before I leave you for the long weekend (yay!) I wanted to give you some New Year's Eve Eve eye candy to swoon over :)

Love these nails, so fun!

I am going to my friends annual PJ party but if I was going out this would be my dress of choice:

Oooooor maybe this one:

What a fun decoration idea:

This print is adorable (Shanna you could use this in your entry way in place of the Christmas one!):

I hope you all have a happy, healthy, start to the new year.  Lots of love from us here at Swoon Style Home!

See you swoon,

Swoon-Worthy Style: the Royal Wedding!

Please tell me I am not alone in waking up to watch the wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton last week?!?  Granted, I am up every day at 5 am, so this was not a big deal for me, but I gotta say, I loved having friends around on email, Facebook and Twitter to buzz about all the glorious details and fashion.  I know the Internets have totally covered every aspect of the wedding, but I'm a sucker for a wedding, so here are a few of my favorite details.

royal wedding

I love her gown.  It is so reminiscent of the gown that Grace Kelly wore on her wedding day that you couldn't help but compare Princess Kate to Princess Grace.

Then that bouquet! I have a soft spot for lily of the valley.  Love the simplicity and elegance of a small bundle of lily of the valley.

And I know Kate was the bride, but her sister Pippa (love.this.name.) chose some absolute stunners for her gowns!  Her bridesmaid's gown was lovely and chic - and somehow managed to be appropriate for a formal church wedding but sexy at the same time.  And did you see her dress for the after party?  ohmygosh - amazing.  I love pretty much anything Temperley London creates, but this blew me away.

I also *love* Prince William's uniform.  I am a sucker for the red and turquoise combo and have been since I studied in Rome in 1996 and saw a dress with those colors in the window of Versace on the Via Conditti.

The hats.  Oh, the hats. Jamie and I were emailing that we need to bring hats and fascinators back to weddings in the States.  They are so amazing!  Here are a few of my faves.

Anybody want to talk about the royal wedding today?  Pretty please?  What was your favorite dress and favorite hat?  I loved Kate's wedding gown and Pippa's green dress ... and I love love love Carole Middleton's {Kate's mom, first hat picture above} hat the best.

See you swoon,
